So many things are happening, or have happened, that it may just require an update via email news letter!
First and foremost, thank you to those who came to see me at the summer fairs. It was a wonderfully crazy, busy, season. (Especially considering it was officially my first.) And watching people interact with my work in real life, made those 40 degree days in a tent well worth it. (Seriously.)
Also: I won an award!
“Best in Show” at Artwalk Square was an amazing surprise.
But that was summer, And now it’s fall.
I’ve finally moved into my Thesis Studio at OCADU, and being that it’s my last year, I decided that it was a good idea to add a minor. So now I’m finishing my BFA with a minor in Art and Social Change. Because, why not tack on an extra class or two? If you are interested you can keep up with that stuff on Instagram.
Not to be outdone with school stuff, I somehow have managed to send work out in all four directions over the next few weeks. So no matter what part of the city you are in, you won’t be far from at least one of my works.
Now hanging as part of a group show at JEH MacDonald house in Thornhill, are works that are appearing publicly for the first time. The show is part of a larger festival taking place on the grounds next weekend. I’ll be at the opening reception this Friday. Details for the show and the festival can be found at https://www.vamfestival.com/about
Also this weekend I’m headed “home” to participate in the Clarington Outdoor Art Festival on the Visual Art Centre grounds in Bowmanville. It will be quite the homecoming as I vividly remember participating in classes and workshops there as a child. Details for that event can be found at http://www.vac.ca/coaf.html
But there’s more!
My piece Maxed has been juried into the Ontario Society of Artists Emerging Artists Exhibition taking place from October 1 – 20, 2018
Neilson Park Creative Centre, 56 Neilson Drive, Etobicoke, ON
Opening Reception: Thursday, October 4th, 6-8 pm
And finally, the most exciting! I have teamed up with Zoey Zoric and Madsie Bouffard to present a group exhibition at the Artists’s Network Gallery. (Located at the back of the Dark Horse Cafe on Queen St E.)
The show runs from Oct 2- 21, with a reception from 7-10pm on Oct 11th. I’ll be at the gallery most weekends. Details for that show can be found on the Facebook event page. Or feel free to contact me directly.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you, and hopefully you’ll stop in to one of the events listed above. I’ll be at all of them at one point or another, so please do say “hi”, and when you do, be sure to ask me about one of the 3 charity events I’ll be busy painting for in Nov/Dec.
Hope this finds you well, and sliding into the natural rhythms of fall.
