Resurfacing, Leslie Grove Gallery, Toronto, 2021

A series of paintings that attend to the surface as a site of accumulated time and physical labour. The work explores the material qualities of paint — its weight, translucency, and resistance — as a way of thinking about presence, transition, and the experience of being alongside. These paintings look closely and slowly at what becomes visible when that kind of attention is sustained.
