commissioned work
I’m a portrait painter based in Toronto, accepting a limited number of private commissions each year: individuals, children, and family portraits we shape together.
My commissioned portrait practice runs parallel to the research-based work. Each commission is a unique, original oil portrait, painted with the same care I bring to my exhibition work: the same consideration, the same materials, the same commitment to painting figures with sustained looking. A commission is an opportunity to bring this quality of attention to someone or something that matters to you.
I work in artist-grade oils on archival canvas or wood panel. All work is painted from photographic reference. The best reference photographs are taken in natural light with strong shadows. I’ll work with you to find the right one before anything begins.
how it works

Balance: Remaining 60% due on completion.
