Summer IS HERE!!!!
And it’s sure to be an amazing one!
First things first. I made it through my first full year back at school. It’s a completely different animal as an adult, and despite the stress, it was all at once challenging, engaging and rather enjoyable. I’ll be returning in Sept. 2018 to complete my program requirements, and I might even be looking forward to it.
But in the meantime, summer means ART FAIRS! Six of them to be exact. I’ve needed to quickly shift focus and produce new work, so I’ve been super busy and very much covered in paint for the last few weeks. I’ve got fresh stuff to display at the early summer fairs and I’m busy planning what to paint for the mid and late ones too.
You might now be asking the where, when and whys of such things so I’ll start with June. It’ll be back to back weekends for me:
Riverdale Art Walk –Booth 84, June 2-3, Jimmie Simpson Park, Toronto.
Riverdale ArtWalk is a FREE two-day, public fine art exhibition showcasing established and emerging artists in Jimmie Simpson Park in Toronto’s flourishing Queen East arts district. The first outdoor art show of Toronto’s season, the Riverdale ArtWalk is a great place to connect with artists and buy that perfect piece for your home!
Last year, the festival hosted over 175 participating artists and the inclusion of local community groups, entertainment and food vendors.
Now in its 20th year in the Riverdale/Leslieville area of Toronto, the festival has grown to reach an audience of over 20,000 art enthusiasts and supporters. Through new partnership opportunities with the local BIA, the Riverdale ArtWalk expects to continue to grow.
Then I’ll be at Rosedale Art Fair, (scroll down for info) on June 9-10, Scrivener Square, Summerhill, Toronto. It’s sure to be a whirlwind few weeks for me (and the family as a result).
NB: If you can’t make these or are much better at thinking ahead then I am, you can find me throughout the summer at the following shows:
July 6-8 Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, Booth A17 (student section), Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto
Aug 6 Art in the Park, Booth 141, Bronte Park, Oakville.
Aug 10-12 ArtWalk in the Square, Shops on Don Mills, Toronto.
Sept 7-9 Cabbagetown Arts and Crafts, Riverdale Park West, Toronto.
I hope to keep you all updated as the season progresses. I know what I’ll be doing all summer, here’s hoping I figure out how to do it somewhere in cottage country!
Cheers!
